Switch Lighting
New Zealand's leading manufacturer of LED lighting solutions
Switch Lighting is proud to be a New Zealand manufacturer of LED lighting solutions
We believe LED lighting is the lighting of the future – it is the true clean green environmentally friendly energy-efficient light source
Jon Maunsell and Gerard Woods first started working on LED products together in 2009. Jon comes from an electronics background and Gerard is a Mechanical Engineer. The two skill sets compliment each other well in the designing and manufacturing of LED products. Jon first investigated LED back in the late 1990s, not long after the Nichia Engineer Shuji Nakamura invented the first high-brightness white LED in 1993.
In 2003 Jon designed and built his first LED light. Since then it has been a steady progression of learning and developing lighting products. So with over 10 years in developing LED lighting products, half of them involving Gerard's Engineering skills, Switch Lighting is proud to be the leader in LED luminaire manufacturing in New Zealand. We create lights that are designed for the New Zealand environment, be that on the coast or on top of a mountain in the National Parks of New Zealand.
