Real Healthy Me
Dr. Olivia is our in-house lifestyle GP, and has been a medical doctor for 15 years with experiences in general practice (clinical and academic), oncology and paediatrics. Clients seen over the years have taught her how amazing the human body truly is in healing itself when provided the right environment.
This is not limited to high blood pressure, diabetes, polycystic ovaries, fatty liver, gout, chronic inflammation, anxiety, and depression. She is the captain and inspiration for this clinic and is very much looking forward to helping everyone who is wanting to make a difference in their personal health and lives.
Lifestyle Medicine is “the application of environmental, behavioural, medical and motivational principles to the management (including self-care and self-management) of lifestyle-related health problems in a clinical and/or public health setting” (Egger, Binns, & Rössner, 2010). This is achieved by modifying diet, physical activity, sleep, and creating a positive social connection as a primary therapeutic modality for treatment and reversal of chronic disease. It is a modality to prevent or delay the onset of a chronic health condition, and it is not used in substitution of medication. Instead, we improve health so you can be disease free, medication free or even recover faster from injury or surgery. A lifestyle GP is a medical doctor who facilitates this process.
Real Healthy Me is a team of a medical doctor, dietitian, pharmacist and health coaches, providing one-on-one consultations and health programmes to help you improve your health. Our team will work with you to regain health naturally through what you do every day - eating, exercising, sleeping, thinking, and connecting! Then, as your health improves, it is a common side effect to feel better, look better, sleep better, think better, move better, and even eat better! This creates a positive cycle, making it easy to be healthy! As a result of good health, chronic health conditions will be prevented or reversed. In the event of an injury or illness, good baseline health will allow medical treatment to be more effective and you will also recover faster as a result.
