Kick back and enjoy some of the best film & theatre in the cosy confines of Little A. It’s a 100-seat indie theatre tucked away in the middle of Ōtautahi's hottest nightlife, The Terrace. You'll normally find a whole lot of new shows here every week – emerging professional artists with awesome ideas, and established artists performing new material.
Little Andromeda is an indie theatre in the heart of Christchurch’s CBD, nestled in between Craft Embassy and Amaterrace on The Terrace. There are new exciting shows from incredible artists from Christchurch and around the country almost every night.
In summary, Little Andromeda is like a petrie dish for performing arts.
For the audience, we are here to bring you hi-qual shows with a very strong emphasis on original work from New Zealand creatives. We are also here to make sure theatre is accessible to all: our ticket price averages $15. These low ticket prices often make choosing to go to shows no-brainers.
For creatives, Little Andromeda exists to be a space to try new ideas. We programme our material, and don’t charge a theatre hire to the producer, rather taking a percentage of ticket sales and providing production support. This is to reduce risk to creatives creating original work, and means we end up with a plethora of awesome original material here. When shows really work well, we encourage artists to continue to develop and tour the show to larger theatres.
