Kunstautomat - Art Vending Machine
Located in the Arts Centre, New Zealand’s first Kunstautomat is a truly unique (and fun) way to experience art. Just pop $6 into the vending machine and you'll receive a tiny piece of handcrafted art - but you won’t know what you’re getting until it’s in your hands.
The machine is the invention of German artist Lars Kaiser who has been repurposing old vending machines in Europe for several years Kunstautomaten I Konzept
Instead of junk food or drinks, the Kunstautomat is filled with cigarette box-sized art that people can buy for $6 a pop (3x $2 coins).
