Starbucks
International coffee giant Starbucks is returning to the Christchurch CBD for the first time since 2011.
It opened in Cathedral Square before Christmas, taking space on a prominent corner in Spark Square next to upmarket appliance brand Miele’s showcase store.
Starbucks originally opened in the Christchurch CBD back in 2001 and had two branches, one in the Old Post Office building in the Square and the other in Cashel Street.
Their story began in 1971. Back then we were a roaster and retailer of whole bean and ground coffee, tea and spices with a single store in Seattle’s Pike Place Market. Today, we are privileged to connect with millions of customers daily in 76 markets.
